We can find the responses of these questions in these below reasons:

    Origin of Saffron

Origin of saffron is in Iran. More than 90% of world's saffron is harvested in Iran and is exported with the highest quality in the lowest rate around the world such as Spain, Afghanistan, Emirates. 1 gram of pure Saffron is expensive in your market because it deals by brokers and acting companies. Quite a lot of people (fraudsters) start their plan at the origin of the saffron and introduces it as Spanish saffron while its product share is lower than 2%. In this way, you buy 1 gram pure saffron two to three times more expensive than Iran Iranian pure saffron

    The Harvesting Process

Saffron is a very complex product to harvest. Each saffron flower has only 3 red stigmas, which are saffron. These threads themselves are so delicate which must be removed carefully by hand and there is no any mechanized way to safely harvest saffron stigmata from the flower to now. To prepare a pound of saffron, must pick more than 80,000 saffron flowers from the ground by hand one by one and slowly. considering that the harvest season of this crop is autumn and when the weather is getting colder the harvesting get harder

Saffron Belongs to a Particular Climate

Although most of the world's saffron is grown in Iran (more than 90%) but saffron is also grown in some other countries, such as India and Afghanistan. Saffron is not grown in any ground or anywhere. For example, the pH of the soil and its other chemical factors are very important in the growth of saffron. Also, each type of fertilizer cannot be given us saffron also climatic conditions effect in the cultivation of saffron. The climate must be cold and humidity. This plant needs protection against certain pests and diseases, as well as rodents and herbivores. Saffron growers should keep in mind that frost during frost or excessive plating will cause the plant to freeze. Then Saffron growers should keep to the different factors such as rain, temperature, and good soil with natural manures to grow easily.
